Week 5

24 Hours Interior Time Lapses

I set up the time lapses right before I went to bed, letting the camera capture the scene that I can never observe from the window. Something I found out after I looked at the video is that around the sunrise/ morning, the room temperature change from a cooler color to a warmer color and repeats then gradually goes toward a warmer tone light. This was a cloudy weekend day without sunlight. If it is a sunny day, the metal subway downstairs will reflect the sunlight into the room when passing by.

Light Observation

This is an installation in the Marlborough Gallery in Chelsea. I capture it because I found the shadow it cast on the wall quite dreamy and glowy. Originally I think there is a light source inside the installation plus the strip light directly on top of it gave it this shadow. Then I took another shot at the spot light on the opposite of the installation, there are two spot lights on top of this piece, and also the material I translucent.

plus for my light inspiration, I found a light design studio that I really like Smith & Winken, they create light with some moving elements with really detailed and intricate mechanism
