Unreal Project - Maze Runner

Ideation

For my Cornell Box, I was originally thinking of making a theater box (inspired by @benjamin_pollocks_toyshop) and looking it through a peephole, but I had a hard time finding assets of the theater that could be used in the theater box, so I moved to the second idea, which is a 3d maze. Since I use Rhino, I thought I might be able to 3d model out the maze in Rhino. I looked up some tutorials about how to export a 3d model in Rhino with the UV map into Unreal (Link).

Inspired by Ricardo Bonfil’s architecture and Robert Wilson and Es Devlin’s stage design, I was thinking to create a maze with that style. The player will wake up in a small castle, which is in the center of the maze. They can explore the maze, and eventually try to run out of it. I tried to create an atmosphere with a sort of fantasy and dreamy lighting, so the main color I used is red and black for objects and orange and blue for lighting.

In Rhino 3D, I modeled out the Maze and the little planet above it. Then import the file into Unreal Engine.

For some reason, my character still cannot moving fluently, and I am still in the process of fixing it.
