Imagine the familiar scenario: it's late at night, and you're ready for bed. Charging your phone and turning off the light are typically the last two things before bed, but these seemingly simple tasks can be a pain, especially when you can't find your charger or you're already cozy under the covers.
As a designer, I wanted to create a solution that streamlines these tasks, eliminating the hassle and making the bedtime experience more enjoyable. The Charge-and-Sleep Lamp is the embodiment of that vision, seamlessly combining wireless charging, automatic light switch-off, and an appealing design inspired by Pixar's iconic lamp.

Design Process
3D Modeling: A meticulous 3D model of the lamp's joinery was created to ensure precision and functionality, enabling visualization of the final product and planning for fabrication.
Wood Fabrication: The Shaper Origin tool, a handheld CNC router, was employed to craft double-sided woodcuts with a high level of accuracy, resulting in a well-crafted final product.
Electronics: The lamp's functions are managed by an Arduino UNO, controlling wireless charging and automatic light switch-off for seamless integration and operation.
Future Upgrades: A transition to a compact microcontroller is planned to maintain functionality while creating a smaller, more aesthetically pleasing form factor.
